Diabetic Clinic
Offered at different times. Please check with the surgery.
Family Planning
Contraceptive care is provided by all the nurses during surgery hours.
Minor Surgery
Dr Degun, Dr Macaulay and Dr Salako carry out minor surgical procedures at
Great Berry Surgery and the doctors will be happy to advise you on this.
Non-NHS Examinations
The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence,
by appointment outside surgery hours. Please telephone the surgery so that this
can be arranged for you. Please ask at reception for the charges for these services.
Counselling
Counsellors are available at both Great Berry and Knares. Please ask at reception
for details.
Patients Over 75 Years
If you are aged 75 years or over, you should be seen annually either by your
doctor or practice nurse. This can be arranged at the surgery or, if that is
not possible, a home visit will be arranged.
Travel Immunisations/Vaccinations
Please make an appointment at least eight weeks in advance of your holiday
to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and
vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. Not all vaccines are available
at the surgery. A visit to a travel clinic would then be necessary. There is
a charge for private prescriptions for anti-malarials.
Flu Vaccination
An influenza vaccine is particularly recommended for patients with heart,
lung or kidney disease, diabetes, asthma, residents of nursing and rest homes
and any patient over 65 years old. Please contact the reception staff in September
for details of the vaccination dates. If you are unable to attend the surgery,
a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility.
Yellow Fever Vaccinations
Neither surgery is an authorised Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.
Child Immunisation
Please inform the surgery if you do not wish your child to be vaccinated.
