The Knares and Great Berry Medical Practice

Appointments

We run a full appointment system. Appointments may be made by telephoning or by calling at the surgery. Routine appointments may be made well in advance (maximum one month), which will enable us to offer you an appointment at a time more suitable to your requirements. If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible as this will assist in over-subscribed situations. It should be noted that if you fail to turn up for an appointment on more than three occasions, you will automatically be removed from the practice list.

Emergencies

If you are confronted by a serious problem such as severe chest pain or severe bleeding call an ambulance (tel: 999) before calling the surgery. We have a full out-of-hours cover service. Cover is available between 18.00 and 09.00 during the week and at all times at weekends. If you telephone the surgery you will be put straight through to the deputising service.

Home Visits

Home visits are usually carried out between 12.00 and 14.00. Patients are requested to telephone before 11.00 if a visit is required that day. Emergency visits only will be arranged after that time. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls. Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time it takes to do a home visit.

Test Results

If you have undergone tests or x-rays ordered by the practice, you will need to contact the practice after 11.00 five/ten days after the test has been carried out.

Cervical smear results take up to six weeks and your result will be sent directly to your home.
